This episode is congruent with both chapters eight and nine of the manga, but mostly nine since it completely skips over Megumi taking the entrance exams for the Nekomi Institute of Technology. However, this episode still presents some of the dialouge and situations that occur in chapter nine. Chapter ten is the focus here since it deals with Megumi trying to find an apartment.

In the OVA, neither of these things occur. Right after Keiichi and Belldandy move into the temple, still in episode one, Megumi shows up to bring some money for our poor hero. That's more or less it, since the OVA then moves into some original material involving the Motor Club partying at Keiichi's place.

The episode opens up much with a small scene of Megumi attempting to hitchike a ride to Nekomi. This is not present in any incarnation of the manga. However, what happens next is how the manga opens up the story, as Keiichi and Belldandy notice that their expenses are rather diminuitive, unable to let them last until the next payment comes in (they even kept in that they only had a tube of squeeze-cheese and a box of baking soda).

In pops Megumi after Belldandy utters a spell. However, one major difference here is that instead of bringing food, Megumi brings in straight cash in the manga. Also, Belldandy (much like the Sayoko incident a few episodes ago) manages to tell Megumi that she's from the Goddess Agency, unlike the manga.

Then it skips directly to chapter ten, when Megumi pulls out the flier for her "specs" on an apartment. Their visitation of the men's dorm is completely anime original, as Keiichi manages to make Megumi startled by taking out an apartment listing in the manga. Either way, Megumi still shows resolve that she'll keep on searching, as "the best places don't even make it to the papers!"

They visit a heckuva lot more places in the anime than they do in the manga. Originally, Keiichi was in the bath, not asleep, when Belldandy had her conversation with Megumi. Although the conversation is a little different, Belldandy gets away without being interrupted by Keiichi (in the manga) about being a goddess.

Belldandy's spell was originally asked to be done by Keiichi in the manga, not outside of the temple the night before.

Dude, the Earth Spirit is a heckuva lot scarier in the anime than he is in the manga! The rattling and everything is anime-only, while in the manga the encounter was pretty quick.

I'm not sure if this is an alteration on Studio Proteus' part (since this is one of the few early chapters that Nekomi Kodai didn't translate), but Belldandy simply reenergizes the spirit's power line, while in the anime she realigns it so energy can flow freely. Also, Megumi originally left the room to check out the garden, instead of signing the contract.

The rat-turned Earth Spirit scampers away in the anime, but Belldandy manages to introduce him to Megumi (although Megumi doesn't seem to like rats). As a final comparison, they go back to chapter nine where Keiichi finds out the college that Megumi got accepted into was Nekomi Tech.
