About the Name
The name October comes from the fact that the actual translation of Emeralda's theme song is "October Mermaid", not "June Mermaid". Only, the former is too long to type, so I shortened it to "October". October in Japanese is written as "the month without gods", and is when the gods of the Japanese pantheon travel to Izu to meet, thus the rest of Japan is without gods. No, it doesn't make much sense to me, either.
For information on the Japanese names of the month, refer to this.
Why I Made this Shrine
Because Emeralda rocks socks. And it's been a few years since Xenogears has been out, so any crazy at all has significantly died down... and Emeralda has always been a favorite of mine. Despite the fact that there was already another Emeralda shrine out there, I wanted to pursue this project from my own angle.
About the Layout
Made in Photoshop, sliced up in Adobe ImageReady, and cleaned up in NoteTab Light (a tabbed replacement for Notepad).
