Information - History
Episode I: The Origin
This was the era of human expansion, the discovery of the Zohar and Vessels of Anima, and the creation of Deus. Deus was deemed to be too dangerous, and was stored on a ship called the Eldridge to be transported to an obscure planet, as to not be able to be used against humanity.
Abel, a boy being transported on the ship, somehow made contact with Deus, enabling Deus to take on a form. The form Deus took on was that of which Abel longed for the most, a mother. Taking on this form, Deus was able to take over the Eldridge though the captain caused it to crash onto a nearby planet.
Episode II: Plans in Motion
The Eldridge crashed onto a nearby planet, and Deus had the Zohar, Kadomony, and fragments of the Eldridge to work with. It's plan could begin. Deus gave birth to the first thirteen humans of the planet, Cain and the Gazel Ministry. It was after this that Deus then split itself into Miang and Elly.
The Wave Existence imbedded it's programming into Elly, and Deus implanted it's programming into Miang. While the Wave Existence's will was weakened, Deus took over the Mother to create humanity. The split of the two wills was imperative to Deus, as Elly was to take care of the Contact as well as help humanity's development, and Miang was to watch over humanity and ultimately set Deus' plans in motion when the time was right.
To ensure Miang's survival, the Miang Factor was imbedded into all women, so that if one Miang died, another would arise over the consciousness of another woman. She would immediately have access to all of the woman's memories and abilities, and pose as that woman while doing her duty of watching over humanity. It's stated that her transmigration into another woman is random, though it's quite possible that she would have gained an ounce or two of control over it after doing it for those many years.
Episode III: Restarting Humanity
For some reason or another, Miang deemed humanity unworthy of being part of Deus at this point in time. She decided that it was time to reset humanity, and did so from her position of power; she had an influence on Zeboiim's Prime Minister, and through him orchestrated a world nuclear war which eradicated much of humanity.
Episode IV: The Solaris War
During this era, there was the rise of Solaris, the construction of Shevat, the rise of Nimrod, the founding of the Nisan religion, and the Solaris War.
Elly was the daughter of the founders of the Nisan faith, and took on the name "Sophia" as well as the leadership role for Nisan.
Nimrod had many civil conflicts, and began to blame it on the Nisan faith. This caused Nisan to secede from Nimrod, and eventually Nimrod fell. Sophia was kidnapped by Krelian, and after Nimrod fell she returned to lead Nisan.
It was then when Solaris decided to have a war with the surface dwellers. Shevat joined with Nisan and Krelian lead the army. Rene and Roni Fatima joined also.
Miang was supposedly responsible for the Solarian War, although not much detail is given about it. Solaris was getting tired of her for some reason and tried to make a deal with Shevat: Give us Sophia, and we'll give you Miang. Solaris decided to launch an attack on Nisan during this time, since Nisan without Shevat's help couldn't do anything. However, Sophia rammed the Excalibur, an airship, into Solaris' flagship. She died this way.
Lacan became Grahf due with trying to make contact with the Zohar while incomplete, and decimated 96% of the world's population. This was called the Diablos Conflict.
After the war and Diablos Conflict, the countries of Aveh and Kislev were found, and the Ethos was established in Aquavy.
Episode V: Ascendence to Heaven
Miang took over the Contact's mother's body, the body of Karen Wong. Before this, she worked with Krelian on creating an artificial Contact, and the result was Kharan Ramsus. However, once they found Fei, they disposed of Ramsus and he slowly worked his way up to the highest ranks of the military in Solaris, and became the Earth Element.
Using her identity as Fei's mother, she subjected him to horrifying experiments, which caused him to split into two personalities. The result of one of these personalities, Id, was used by Grahf. When Grahf came to take Fei away, Karen overpowered Miang and saved Fei from being killed. This is when Miang died in this form.
When the Miang Factor activated in the current Miang, she was a student at Jugend with the former Elements, which include Hyuga, Sigurd, Jesse, and Ramsus. It's also assumed that she met Krelian around this time. She became formally Ramsus aide, and informally his lover. However, she mainly had this position to manipulate Ramsus into set emotional states so that he could fulfill Krelian's ambitions, including killing Cain.
The first time the party meets Miang is when Bart faces Ramsus trying to save Margie. Miang is never targetable in battle, only serving to heal Ramsus.
There is a point in the game when Elly is recaptured by Solaris. This is possibly the first and only time that Miang had actually met Elly face to face, and realized that she was the Anti-type. Throughout the game it becomes more and more clear how important Miang is to the story, with snippets of interaction between her, Krelian, and the Gazel Ministry.
Eventually, the party faces Miang in her Omnigear, Opiomorphus. This is arguably one of the hardest and most annoying boss fights in the game. Afterwards, she is stabbed by Ramsus, and the Miang Factor finally activates in Elly, fusing the two into becoming the Original Mother.
Blah blah blah, Fei faces Deus and Urobolus, wins, frees Elly, Miang is never heard of again. The end.
Episode VI: Twilight of the Idols
Episode VI was supposed to basically be an epilouge of the world of Xenogears. It can't be that interesting if Miang's not there :-P
